Preparing the colour
The glass is composed of pure silica sand which takes on the specific colour with the addition of common metal oxides. This compound has been melted at very high temperatures, turning into the coloured glass used that replicates the cristal clear sea colours. A unique and non repeatable colour.
Working the glass
The artistic glass, both mouth-blown and hand-crafted, required a dedicated work group composed of the renowned Master of Glass Arts Fabiano Amadi plus four other people specialized experts in the various stages of the processing.
Fabiano Amadi, cornerstone of the group and known for able to create some of the largest blown and handmade single glass vases, with his sensitivity and artistic ability shaped the huge piece, reaching the desired pure shape and maximum size.
Cooling in the „Tempera“ and finishing
The vase made by the Master of Glass Arts, still very hot, has been introduced into the “tempera” (long belt cooling oven).
Here the piece flowed and cooled slowly over many hours of permanence before coming out ready for the finishing. The object, blown in the furnace and cooled in the “tempera”, has then been cold finished by the team of experts who proceeded with the polishing and diamond wheel finishing.
Certifying exclusivity
The „Onelia Glass“ logo certifies the high quality and uniqueness of the finished vase and has been sandblasted on the vase. The original signature of the Master of Glass Fabiano Amadi and the unique serial number were engraved on the bottom of the vase ensuring the originality of the vase.
